The place

Unstaffed DNT complex at 615 m near Lake Store Stølevann in Skrim (Kongsberg municipality, Buskerud, Norway). Operated by Larvik og Omegns Turistforening (LOT). Three buildings totaling 32 places: Hovedhuset (main house, 13 beds, DNT members only, advance booking required), Smia (forge, 4 beds) and Båthuset (boathouse, 9 beds + 4 mattresses, plus a separate 6-bed dog room). Open year-round. Propane cookers in all buildings, wood stoves, solar lighting, well water. Summer access: rowboat for main house guests. On-site fishing and swimming. On-foot access: 1-3 km from the Vesle Stølevann car park (the fastest access both summer and winter). Mandatory clean-up on departure; pack out your rubbish.
