The place

Free Metsähallitus autiotupa located in the Käsivarsi wilderness area of Finnish Lapland, on the banks of the Lätäseno River, about 22 km downstream from Pinniskoski. Shared shelter, free access under the general autiotupa rules: open, unlocked, stays limited to one or two nights without a booking. Basic equipment: a hearth for heating and cooking. No running water or installed toilets.
