Standard DOC hut with 7 bunks at 632 m in Ruahine Forest Park (Hawke's Bay, NZ). Built in 1962 by the NZ Forest Service for deer control. Rainwater tank and open fireplace. Upgraded in 1990 by the Ruahine Deerstalkers Association. Limited access: no track directly connecting to a public road — usual approach from Ruahine Corner Hut. No booking: Standard ticket or Backcountry Hut Pass.
