Hüfihütte
The place
The Hüfihütte is a staffed hut of the Swiss Alpine Club, Pilatus section, located at 2334 m altitude at the eastern end of the Maderanertal in the Glarus Alps (canton of Uri), set within a powerful high-mountain landscape with peaks over 3000 m, vast snowfields and glacial lakes. Toilets and a washbasin with cold glacier water (not drinking water). Staffed depending on weather from late June to late September. Dining room with 30 seats, bookings limited to 30 people. Three-course dinner in the hut tradition, with house wine and bread. Wardens: Désirée Stalder and Daniel Scheuber; SAC Pilatus hut chief: Hermann Purtschert. Base for mixed climbing routes and the traverse to Glarner, or for the "Grosse Maderaner Rundtour".
