The place

Self-service cabin run by Stavanger Turistforening at 1,120 m, east of the large Blåsjø reservoir in the Setesdal/Suldal highlands. 28 beds in total: 16 bookable in the main building and a 2-bed annex; the cabin is open year-round with supplies available. No electricity, wood heating, gas cooking, candles. Equipped kitchen, sheets and bedding provided. Emergency radio with a direct line to hospital services. A recently built permanent bridge at the outlet of Vassdaltjørn. The quickest access combines cycling and walking from Gullingen in Suldal along the service road; marked trails lead to the neighbouring cabins Vassdalstjørn and Storsteinen. Trout fishing with an STF card, hiking to Bergenuten (1,235 m). Dogs allowed in a dedicated room. Arrival before 7 pm for pre-booked guests.
