The place

Vuokratupa (rental hut) run by Metsähallitus Luontopalvelut on an island near Hossa National Park (Suomussalmi, Kainuu). 2 km from the Hossa Nature Center, 7 km from Hossa village, 34 km from Juntusranta. Access by car via Jatkonsalmentie past the nature center for about 1 km, then a turn toward Seipiniemi for 700 m to the car park and boat landing; a rowing boat is available at the shore to reach the island. Weekly maintenance on even-numbered Mondays between 2pm and 6pm (toilets, rubbish, gas, firewood). Booking period: 1 June - 1 October 2026 and 2027. Arrival 2pm, departure noon. Whole-cabin booking for private use via Eräluvat.fi.
