Hort de Son Serra
The place
A refuge set up in a former market garden (hort), now repurposed, in the municipality of Santa Margalida (Majorca, Balearic Islands, Spain), between Can Picafort and Son Serra Marina on the C-712 road (Alcúdia-Artà). Known as the Casal de Son Serra Marina. The original building of the hort has been converted into a refuge with three areas: an overnight refuge, a day refuge, and a camping area. A coastal stopover in the northeast of Majorca — not to be confused with the Serra de Tramuntana refuge network in the northwest (Son Amer, Tossals Verds, etc.). A good base for exploring the beaches and wetlands of the s'Albufera de Mallorca Nature Park.
Getting there
