DOC bivouac in Ka Whata Tu o Rakihouia Clarence Conservation Park (southern Marlborough) — 2 bunks, capacity up to 4 people. No DOC track access: independent navigation required. Vehicle access via Blind Saddle Road from the Kahutara River bridge (25 km inland from Kaikoura via SH1 and the Mt Lyford turnoff) with arrangement through Colin Nimmo / Muzzle Station +64 3 319 5791 (maintenance fee) — road closed in winter.
