The place

Self-service hut of Stavanger Turistforening (DNT), the association's highest hut at 1,130 meters altitude in the Ryfylkeheiane, Suldal municipality (Rogaland, Norway). Capacity of around 21 beds after an extension, split between the main building and an annex; figures vary by source (12+5 bookable and more on a walk-in basis). The hut is normally unlocked, but is completely closed from 19 August to 3 September during the first two weeks of the wild reindeer hunting season. Self-service with a food depot. A one-day walk south of Haukeliseter (around 6 hours on a marked trail).
