The place

CAS Emmental cabin at 1,805 m on the south side of the Hohgant (Bern, Switzerland). 24-30 spaces (24 mattresses). Cabin and winter room locked, accessed via a code sent by SMS the day before. Wood stove, spring water at the outdoor well, dry toilets, solar lighting. Self-service drinks (mineral water, wine, beer). Dogs not allowed inside, open fires forbidden (nature reserve). Open year-round with mandatory booking in both summer and winter via alpsonline.org.
