The place
Overnight cabin ("övernattningsstuga") set at 242 m near Åmål (Västra Götaland, Sweden), along the Pilgrimsleden pilgrimage trail in Dalsland. Sleeps 4, seats 8, equipped with an indoor fireplace and outdoor grill, with room to pitch a tent nearby. Noted for its beautiful view and cosy atmosphere. The cabin is one of four grill sites along the Högelund-Edsleskog stretch of the Pilgrimsleden — a Christian pilgrimage trail that runs through the historic province of Dalsland, following the medieval routes taken by pilgrims travelling to Trondheim (Nidaros) in the Middle Ages. A typical Swedish forest setting: boreal pine forests, glacial lakes, the cultural landscapes of Dalsland — a region known for its historic canals (the Dalsland Canal system, 1868) and its preserved wilderness. Iconic wildlife: moose, roe deer, European beaver, lynx, and eagle owl.
