The place
Chalet ("хижа" / khija) at 1750 m in the Semkovo tourist resort area, 17 km north of the town of Belitsa, at an average altitude of 1600 m, in the Rila range (Bulgaria). A massive two-storey building with 55 beds, sanitary facilities and washbasins upstairs. Picturesque view of the Pirin range to the south from the meadows around the chalet, within a dense spruce and pine forest. Built in 1963 at the Plaviche locality, about 30 minutes from Semkovo. Lakeside setting: an excellent spot for rest and camping, and a starting point for numerous tourist and ecological trails — Semkovo - hizha Ribni Ezera - hizha Makedonia, Rila crossings with children toward the Macedonia hut.

From Semkovo (~30 min to the Plaviche locality), 17 km north of Belitsa.
