The place

Simple, family-friendly self-service DNT cabin on the shore of Lake Herjevatnet in the municipality of Rauma (Møre og Romsdal). A stop on the Romsdalstien; a 6.5 km loop trail around the lake. Capacity of 6 beds (two double bunk beds, one single bunk bed, plus a mattress). Facilities: kitchen equipment, 12V electricity (light, radio), wood stove, rowing boat with life jackets; canoe/boat rental nearby (west end of the lake); mobile coverage available. Access: 3.1 km from the Nysetra car park via a gravel path (suitable for prams/bikes). Alternative access from the Åfarnes ferry terminal or Skorgedalen. Open year-round (snowmobile access in winter). Advance booking and DNT membership required. Access via DNT key.
