Self-service DNT cabin at 1,100 m on the shore of Lake Våervatn, on the Hardangervidda near Rjukan (Telemark, Norway), with a view of the Gaustatoppen. Managed by DNT Telemark. Fourteen sleeping spots in total: eight bookable in advance, six drop-in. Gas heating and a wood stove, candlelight (no electricity), equipped kitchen, bedding provided.

Getting there
Access via the Krossobanen cable car to Gvepseborg (closed for renovation until 2028), then a 3-hour walk; or a marked 13 km route from the Rjukan Fjellstue car park. Closed during wild reindeer calving season (Easter to mid-June) and from mid-October to 1 March. Book online at hyttebestilling.dnt.no.
