Haute Bers

The place

Unstaffed cabin at 1120 m in the Parc naturel régional des Ballons des Vosges, managed by the Club Vosgien de Masevaux. At the top of the Haute Bers alpine pasture, along the GR 5 and GR 5F, near the GR 531. One of the 10 round-log cabins of the Doller valley. Large tables and benches indoors and outdoors, hooks for setting up 2 hammocks, broom and saw since May 2023. Spring 150 m to the east (sometimes dry in drought), the more reliable Hêtre catchment spring 800 m to the west. Bivouacking nearby forbidden (135 € fine). Sleeping indoors only, first come first served. Fires tolerated depending on weather, forbidden in wind (135 € fine).
