Reported ruined state (Harris = surname of a squatter cattleman family from the 1830s Snowy era, pre-Kosciuszko NP established 1944, collapsed stone walls typical of cattlemen huts abandoned in the 1970s after the National Parks Act 1974 ended grazing in the NP), zone with Eucalyptus pauciflora snow gum twisted by alpine wind, herb layer of Poa costiniana alpine snowgrass, and Cinclosoma castanotum western thrush with about 100 individuals remaining, critically endangered in the Snowys, heritage of the Snowy Hydro Scheme 1949-1974 (16 dams, 7 power stations providing 4000 MW of hydroelectricity to NSW after the war).
