The place

Bookable cabin (varaustupa) managed by Metsähallitus on the border of Salla and Savukoski, in the Tuntsa wilderness area on the UKK trail (Finnish Lapland). Capacity of 4 people maximum. The same building also houses an autiotupa (open wilderness cabin) on a first-come, first-served basis. Wood-fired sauna and toilets shared with other users. €16.50/person/night (max 3 nights), check-in 2pm, check-out 12pm.
