Hannukuru kota

The place

Kota (traditional Sami hut) located in the Hannukuru canyon, in Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park (western Lapland, municipalities of Enontekiö, Kittilä, Kolari and Muonio). A rest stop maintained by Metsähallitus along the Hetta-Pallas hiking trail, one of the best known in Finland. The area has several wilderness huts, kotas, and a wild sauna right at Hannukuru. Shared day shelter for a break, central fireplace, benches around the perimeter; capacity not specified but typical of occasional use for a kota.
