The place

A new unstaffed refuge set up at the Col Clapier at 2477 m, on the route Hannibal is said to have taken to cross the Alps. Sleeps 8 hikers who are fully self-sufficient: bring your own gear and food. Contemporary architecture that stands in sharp contrast to traditional refuges, offering a stunning view of Italy through a large window and a starry-sky spectacle visible from the bunks thanks to a skylight. Accessible and open depending on snow conditions.
