Haldorbu

The place

Self-service DNT cabin at 1,025 metres elevation in Langsua National Park (Innlandet, Norway), originally an old shepherd's hut restored and converted into a mountain cabin. Main building fully replaced in 2022 by a new structure. Total capacity of 17 beds: nine beds in the new safety cabin, six in the old main building, and two in the dog room. Bedding, provisions and kitchen equipment provided; no electricity or running water: candles for lighting, propane for cooking, water from the outdoor water point. From Valdres, take the Valdresekspressen toward Beitostølen and get off at Heggenes; pre-book a taxi from Heggenes to Yddin and Storeskag, then a 3.5-hour walk to Haldorbu.
