The place

DOC standard hut with 6 bunks in Mount Richmond Forest Park (Nelson/Tasman), Motueka sector, at 270 m elevation. No booking, pay by hut tickets or Backcountry Hut Pass in the honesty box (NZ$10/5 until 30 June 2026). Important: several sections of the Hacket Track below the Whispering Falls junction have been washed out — check trail conditions before setting off.
