Habert de la Sitre
The place
Habert at 2100 m in the Belledonne massif (Isère). Still exists but now reserved exclusively for shepherds and closed to the general public. Access: beyond the Refuge du Pré Molard, follow the north side of the knoll opposite, the trail climbs to a col east of the Pointe Saint-Mury, cross the gully descending from the Sitre (watch for snow accumulation on the final north-facing traverse), then follow the rock ledge and descend to the habert. Water only when the shepherd is present.
Getting there
Le refuge se rejoint au-delà du refuge du Pré Molard, en suivant le versant nord vers un col à l'est de la Pointe Saint-Mury, puis en traversant le couloir descendant de la Sitre (vigilance névés) avant une vire rocheuse menant à l'abri.
The setting
Le site offre un panorama dégagé sur Grenoble, le Vercors et la Chartreuse ; un point d'eau (lac) se trouve à moins de 100 m.
