The place

Small alpine-pasture shelter at 1660 m in the Chartreuse massif (Isère), not far from the Grande Chartreuse monastery, originally designed to shelter shepherds. Dirt floor, no mattresses or sleeping platforms, no stove, a single door. Access in about 2h walking from La Correrie, following the road that passes in front of the monastery, towards the Petit Som, Notre-Dame de Casalibus and the Col de Léchaud. Unstaffed cabin, free access, bring full bivouac gear.
