The place

Self-service cabin run by DNT Bergen og Hordaland Turlag at 851 metres elevation in the Bergsdalen valley (Vestland, Norway). Total capacity of 41 beds: main building with 35 beds across eight rooms, plus a six-bed emergency cabin with three dog kennels. 29 beds bookable in advance, 12 reserved for walk-in hikers. Gas stove, wood-fired oven, wood stove, drying room, provisions store. No electricity or running water; solar panels power limited lighting. Open year-round, accessed via marked T trails from Småbrekke (8 km, blue, former 1920s military road), Kvitingen (blue), Høgabu (blue) or Vending (red).
