The place

DNT hut at 843 m in Grøvudalen, a side valley of Sunndalen (Møre og Romsdal). A complex of several buildings with forty-one beds: main building with kitchen, Stabburet (storehouse/loft) and an outbuilding with sanitary facilities. 12 V power supply, variable mobile network coverage. In summer the main building is used; in winter, overnight stays take place in the Stabburet, which is better heated. Access from the Hallen car park via about 7 km of flat, easy trail, suitable for families with young children. The area is home to wild reindeer calving grounds: keep your distance, stay alert and show consideration. Around 85% of Norway's alpine flora can be found within walking distance of the hut. Open year-round. Booking via the DNT platform; about half the beds can be booked in advance, and reservations are only guaranteed until 7 pm on the day. Payment via the DNT app.
