The place
FFCAM chalet-refuge at 1321 m on the western slope of the Mont d'Or, in the Jura Mountains, at the Métabief resort. Capacity 30 beds spread across 4 dormitories: Dortoir (12), Bellevue (6), Morond (4), Paradis (8). Staffed or supervised every weekend and during school holidays by volunteers. Open year-round. In winter, isolated and accessible only by cross-country ski or snowshoe (30 min), or via the ski lifts. In summer, access by forest track. At the heart of the Métabief resort's ski and mountain-bike trails, near the Mont d'Or paragliding site, on the GR5 (summer) and the GTJ (winter). Central heating, showers, drying room. Getting there
Plusieurs itinéraires sont possibles pour rejoindre le chalet : à pied depuis Les Longevilles ou Rochejean, ou en saison via les remontées mécaniques du domaine Métabief–Le Morond. Le refuge se trouve à proximité immédiate des tracés du GR5 et de la Grande Traversée du Jura (GTJ).
The setting
Le chalet occupe une position idéale pour des traversées de crêtes, notamment en liaison avec le massif du Risoux et la vallée de Joux côté suisse.
