The place

Old log cabin managed by Ringerike Turistforening (DNT) at the north end of Holleia (Viken, Norway), at 525 metres elevation, with views towards Norefjell and Gaustatoppen; the Grønknuten viewpoint is not far away. Built during the war years. Two rooms totalling eight beds, plus a large combined kitchen-living room. No electricity or solar panels. Cabin locked with a DNT key, accessible year-round. Blue-marked trails lead to the cabin from most directions. Fastest access from the Bårnås bridge in Soknedalen (bus), 3 h 30 up and 3 h down; by car to Sessrud in summer, then 3 h up and 2 h 30 down.
