Green Lake Hut

The place

Standard twelve-bunk hut managed by the Department of Conservation (DOC) in Fiordland National Park, Lake Monowai/Borland Road area (South Island, New Zealand), at 825 metres elevation at the southern end of a lakeside clearing. Rates until 30 June 2026: 10 NZD/night adult, 5 NZD youth (5-17 years), free under 5. No booking required, payment by Standard Hut Ticket deposited in the honesty box or by annual Backcountry Hut Pass. Didymo is present in Lake Monowai but not yet in the Borland Burn, Green Lake or Grebe River: follow check-clean-dry prevention measures and do not drink untreated water.
