Grange de Girieux

The place

Dirt floor, spacious for 5 spots but not suited for sleeping. Useful in bad weather. From Planfay, follow the forest road (closed to traffic); before reaching the large Girieux meadows (two shelters), leave the Pinéa track on your right, then pass the Girieux shelter, then take a muddy track on the right that cuts off the final switchback of the track before the timber yard. The cabin sits up on a rise to the right. From the Col de la Charmette (car park), take the forest track heading due south, climbing gently. Pass the Fontaine Claire (signposted) and continue due south. You eventually reach a timber yard. The cabin sits up on a rise to the right. Open, unused private cabin in the middle of a small, unused clearing.
