Grands-Crêts-de-Bise
The place
Table, benches. Recommendation for visitors to shelters: You are in municipal and cantonal forests. The shelter you are staying in is the private property of the municipality or the State. It was built as a shelter for people working in the forest. They therefore have priority use of this shelter. If forestry staff do not need it, the municipality is happy to make it available to walkers, provided they respect the following conditions: - occupancy is limited to one day - except in cases of distress, it is forbidden to spend the night there - if needed, use must be shared with other people - any reservation is excluded - fire may only be lit in the stove, taking all usual precautions; the wood used must be supplemented with fallen wood found in the surrounding forest - when you leave this shelter, leave it clean and take your rubbish and empty bottles with you. The Municipality or State foresters reserve the right to enforce these rules and take appropriate measures if needed to prevent any misuse. From Les Grandes Roches, follow ch. Rche-Champion then ch. Saugy; after 1.3 km turn left into the forest. The cabin is about 100 m from the path. Woodcutters' hut, built in 1927.
