The place

Occupied sheepfold at 1563 m in the Réserve naturelle des Hauts Plateaux du Vercors (Drôme/Isère), 1h from Pré Peyret and 2h from Jasse du Play. The main building is used by a shepherd and their flock from June to October — guard dogs present. A small adjoining lean-to of 5×6 m can serve as an emergency shelter; a metal bed frame remains usable with your own mattress. Source des Serrons nearby. The GR was rerouted to preserve the flock's peace and the shepherd's privacy. Reserve regulations: bivouacking allowed only 5pm-9am, dogs, fires, camping and paragliding forbidden.
