The place

Staffed Swiss Alpine Club hut at 2,316 m above Grindelwald, in the Bernese Oberland, run by the SAC Burgdorf section. Eighty-eight places in high season, twenty in the winter room. Base camp for hiking, mountaineering, climbing and paragliding, particularly towards the Chrinnenhorn and the Beesibärgli. The hut is known for the ibex that come to lick salt off its walls. Cuisine focused on local and regional produce. According to the operator, the 2026 summer season will be the last at this location before closure.
