The place

Swiss Alpine Club hut at 1896 m on the Glattalp, beside the Glattalpsee in the Schwyz Alps, in the municipality of Muotathal above the hamlet of Bisisthal. Owned by the SAC Mythen section. Built in 1927 with 30 beds and expanded by half in 1971; current capacity of 50 beds. A green setting at the heart of Switzerland's largest limestone-karst region, with its characteristic rock formations. A small cable car links the valley floor to the Glattalp. Hut cuisine: soup, salad, main course, dessert. Playground nearby (trampoline, sandbox, slackline). Extensive hiking options and alpine crossings towards Braunwald or the Klöntal.
