The place
Beds available: 8. Warning, one wall has a significant crack, risk of collapse. Enclosure for horses next to the refuge. Fairly degraded condition due to graffiti, likely due to its proximity to the road. Accessible by car. "ONF" section: a stove has been installed in the fireplace and it draws well and heats sufficiently, plenty of dust before the necessary sweep-up. The benches, made from wood offcuts (shelving, flooring, ...), aren't very sturdy, and the table, meant for 10, effectively seats only 4-5. As for sleeping, the upper sleeping platform worked well and should accommodate around 6-8 people. The lower one was less appealing. On the GR 946. ONF (French forestry office).
Getting there
Situé sur le GR 946, accessible en voiture (proximité d'une route), à proximité du Col de Branche et du Col St Pierre. Point d'eau à moins de 100m.
The setting
Abri forestier isolé en forêt, secteur du Diois et des Baronnies provençales, commune de Noyers-sur-Jabron (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence). Enclos à chevaux attenant.
A word from the warden
Cabane non gardée, gérée par l'ONF. Capacité d'environ 8 personnes sur deux bat-flancs superposés. Poêle à bois récemment installé et fonctionnel.
