The place
Staffed refuge at 2,548 m in Edolo (province of Brescia), at the foot of the imposing north face of the Adamello in the upper Val d'Avio (Lombardy). Ninety-eight sleeping places, sixty-nine table seats. Managed by the CAI Brescia section, warden Odoardo Ravizza. Season June 10 to September 22. Off-season, openings for groups of at least 15 people by reservation. Hot water, electricity, showers, vegetarian options, wine selection, regional specialties. Dogs not admitted. Card payments not accepted. Base for climbing the Monte Adamello (3,539 m), the Punta Venerocolo (3,323 m) and the Monte dei Frati (3,284 m), with mountaineering gear depending on the route.
Getting there
Access from Malga Caldea (1,550 m) in about 3 hours, 1,000 m of elevation gain.
