Gammelsetra

The place

Old setra (summer mountain farm) converted into a DNT cabin at the heart of the Dovre-Sunndalsfjella trail network. A group of four buildings — Gammelstua, Aakerstua, Eldhuset — with 32 beds in total, locked with a DNT key, self-service operation. Gas cooking, wood heating, 12V power with charging, drinking water from a source near the main building, no mobile coverage. Dog-friendly rooms available. Half the capacity is bookable via the DNT system (booking held until 7 pm on arrival day), payment via the app after the stay. Provisions available on site (canned goods, breakfast items). Summer access: 20-30 min on foot from the Lindalen parking area; in winter from Jenstad, on an unploughed road. Fishing with a permit, marked trails to neighboring cabins, watch for the wild reindeer zone.
