Historic rustic cabin named after John Charles Frémont, the 1843 American military explorer who discovered the Great Basin (a closed basin with no outlet to the ocean, 500,000 km² across Nevada-Utah-Oregon-Idaho, ~40% of the SW USA, a strange hydrographic enclave), area of Pinus ponderosa (yellow pine) + Juniperus occidentalis + Artemisia tridentata (sagebrush) cold desert, heritage of the Klamath-Modoc-Yahooskin (three Northern Paiute peoples, 4000 deported by Andrew Jackson in 1854, Klamath Reservation dissolved 1954, restored 1986).
