The place
Four banal des Combettes, a historic communal bread oven and shelter in the hamlet of Combettes, on the foothills of Mont Lozère (Cévennes, Lozère), at 1000 m altitude. Traditional granite building typical of Cévennes architecture, formerly used by several families of the hamlet. Cévennes National Park, UNESCO reserve.

A bit of history
Ancien four à pain banal (four communal que les habitants du hameau étaient autrefois tenus d'utiliser moyennant redevance seigneuriale), restauré et reconverti en petit espace d'exposition consacré à l'occupation préhistorique du massif du Mont Lozère.
