The place

Cabin at 2049 m in the Lenk region (Bernese Oberland, Switzerland). Capacity 14 places. Season: June to end of October, guarded weekends only, closed after October. Cabin with no meal service (self-catering), wood stove for heating and cooking. Managed by the Fluhseeverein association (founded 1984) with 30 active members taking turns on duty during the summer season, one member per weekend. By reservation only, June to November. Approach requires solid hiking experience: about 2h30 from the parking lot at Camping Hasenweide for 1100 m of elevation gain. Contact: fluhseeverein@fluhsee.ch.
