Finsehytta: A Historic Hut at Finse Finsehytta is a tourist hut located in the municipality of Ulvik, in Vestland, Norway. Perched at 1222 meters altitude, this hut is affiliated with the Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT). History and Rehabilitation The building was originally constructed as a testing laboratory for aircraft engines by the Germans during the Second World War. After the war, it was taken over by DNT and converted into a tourist hut in 1947-1948. It was later expanded and modernized in 1952, 1961, and 1976. The hut is staffed from March to May and from July to September. Glacier courses are also offered there in summer. Cost and Funding Rehabilitation cost: Not specified.
