The place

Standard backcountry DOC hut with 4 bunks on Renata Ridge, in Tararua Forest Park (Wellington/Kapiti). Multi-day links possible with neighboring huts. Access: 4-5 h from Renata Hut; 3-4 h from Alpha Hut. No booking required, fees (until 30 June 2026) NZ$10/5 adult/child via Standard Hut Ticket (honesty box) or Backcountry Hut Pass. New rates from 1 July 2026.
