Eldåbu

The place

Self-service DNT cabin in the Rondane massif (Innlandet, Norway), at 1,005 meters elevation. Built in 1966, equipped with solar panels, gas for cooking, wood stove for heating, and a food supply depot. Twenty sleeping places in total: main building with 12 beds and annex with 6 beds (approximate figure). Self-service mode: occupants handle their own cooking and cleaning. Summer access by local bus to Mysuseter then 1h30 walk from the end of the road at Eldåsæter; winter access by ski from Spitsbergseter, usually reached from Ringebu by taxi. Closed for wild reindeer calving from April 10 to June 18. Booking via hyttebestilling.dnt.no, payment via the DNT app or on-site form. Summer base camp for hiking and winter base for skiing, connections to Veslefjellbua via the Ramshøgda ridge.
