The place

Self-service DNT hut (Stavanger Turistforening) located at 1080 m in the Ryfylkeheiane, within the Lusaheia protected landscape area (Rogaland). Advertised as one of the least accessible cabins in the DNT network. Forty-two sleeping places in total: twelve bookable bunks spread across three rooms, thirty mattresses on the mezzanine and in the living room. No electricity; gas cooking, wood heating, candle lighting. Guests are responsible for cooking, collecting water and cleaning. Open year-round, unlocked. Provisions on site (selection varies by season). Registration and payment for overnight stays and provisions via the DNT app. Classic activities: ascent of Stora Blåfjell (1236 m) and Sandalsnuten (1159 m); historic hunting shelters nearby, including Jensahidleren under a large boulder. Trout fishing with an STF card. Dogs allowed in the lean-to, not in the living areas. Reduced rate for DNT members (minimum 20%), free for member children under 12.
