The place
A hand-built, unstaffed DNT cabin at Smådøldalen, on the edge of Dagalifjell, at 1,025 m. 8 beds across three rooms, main living room with open kitchen, wood stove and gas cooking, candlelight (no electricity), outdoor toilet. Dishes provided, bring your own bedding. Water from a marked well or melted snow/stream in winter. Access: 1 km (≈30 min) from the Frygnesætri car park; toll road in summer (95 NOK via YouPark). Trail to the Dusehesten rock formation and Dusetind (1,177 m). The Fauskodammen cultural park with historic log dams and Roman-era ironworking sites nearby.
