The place

Serviced DOC hut with 5 bunks in Whanganui National Park (Manawatu/Whanganui), at 18 m elevation. Access by boat only via the Whanganui River: no road or track serves the hut. Camping not permitted in the reserve. Rates until 30 June 2026: adult NZ$25/night, youth 5-17 years NZ$12.50, child 0-4 years free. Backcountry Hut Pass valid only between 1 May and 30 September. Bookings open until 30 June 2027.
