Continuous North Caucasus Russia cluster (batches 260-341). Rustic base-camp cabin for Elbrus expeditions (the "Roof of Europe," visited by 100,000 climbers a year, with an average of ~50 deaths per season), in a zone of Caucasian rhododendrons and subalpine steppe, Balkar heritage (a Turkic-Oghuz people, 100,000 strong, deported to Central Asia in 1944 on accusations of collaborating with the Nazis under Stalin, rehabilitated under Khrushchev in 1957, the only people in Russia to have returned 100%).
