Dennach Aussichtsturm hütte
The place
An observation pavilion called Schwabentor, set at 640 m on the forest edge directly on the Westweg, just above the village of Dennach (municipality of Neuweiler, northern Black Forest). The site offers a wide panoramic view over the Albtal and Pfinztal valleys. It occupies the site of a former tall wooden tower from the 1920s — now under restoration via a donation drive — replaced by a smaller observation tower with its pavilion. A classic stage on the Westweg, the historic Schwarzwaldverein long-distance trail linking Pforzheim to Basel.
Getting there
On the Westweg route, from Dennach (Neuweiler) or nearby hamlets in the northern Black Forest.
