The place
The DAV-Haus Hammer is a self-catering, staffed house of the German Alpine Club, Munich section, located at 750 m elevation in the middle of a 34,000 m² meadow in the hamlet of Hammer, municipality of Fischbachau (Leitzachtal, Bavaria). The main building offers 81 beds spread across single, double, quadruple and six-bed rooms, with a spacious kitchen equipped with several stoves, refrigerators and full facilities (hot and cold water). The small adjoining Hütte Hammer offers a further 16 spaces with its own kitchen and common room. Direct access by Bayerische Regiobahn train or by car, Fischbachau station 5 minutes' walk away.
