The place

Swiss Alpine Club hut operated by the Pilatus section, perched at 2439 m on the south ridge of the Moosstock, east of the Dammastock and the Dammagletscher in the Uri Alps. Panoramic views over the Göscheneralpsee reservoir lake. Displayed at the 1914 Swiss National Exhibition in Bern, dismantled and rebuilt on its current site in 1915, opened in 1916; gently renovated in summer 2025 while preserving its original character. Twenty beds, staffed from June to the end of September (drinks, half-board, simple meals). Main route marked white-red-white from the dam (postal bus from Göschenen) along the north shore of the lake via Vorder Röti-Egg, about 3 hours.

Marked white-red-white trail from the Göscheneralpsee dam (postal bus from Göschenen) via Vorder Röti-Egg, ~3 h. Southern variant accessible without snow in ~2 h 30.
