The place
A rustic, unstaffed cabin managed by DNT Drammen og Omegn in open forest terrain, just off a marked trail between Flatvollen and Langedrag (Buskerud, Norway), at 1,000 metres altitude. Six to eight spaces across three rooms (two family bunk beds and a room set aside for dogs) plus a living-room bench. Heating from a wood-burning stove, a gas burner, basic kitchen equipment. Summer access: a toll of 110 NOK (Borgemarka road) then a 4 km walk from the barrier. Winter: same track but unmarked, map-and-compass navigation required. Bring sheets or a sleeping bag. No mobile signal (available on the nearby ridge). Water from the marked stream, snow to be melted in winter. Thorough cleaning required before departure. Booking via DNT or the DNT Hyttebetaling app.
